2026 Board of Commercial Divers

DeepSea Locker welcomes Christopher Bodtker to our 2026 Board of Commercial Divers.

Christopher Bødtker (Boedtker) born in Norway, Bergen 18.12.1989. He started diving for recreation with his father at the age of 12, mainly local coastal hunting and wreck-diving.
After attending Ranger training / education in the Army the plan was originally to enter Norway's special operations, FSK, but missed family and life at home.
He went back home and started working as dive-instructor, dive-tech and sales for NemoClassic Diving in Bergen. There he supplied and serviced Poseidon Diving Systems dive equipment among many other brands as well.

He completed 1 year of Commercial Dive training at Statens Dykkerskole in Bergen (Class 1 and 3, heavy equipment) and in 2011-2012 started working for IMC-Diving in summer 2012. Christopher has been there since.
He completed his Sat/Bell diver course in NYD and INPP in 2016 with his Dive-medic certification / CSWIP. Adding his a weld-specialist at NYD Subsea Training Centre with Cem Durgun.

Christopher has tried every kind of work for a diver. Welding, ship-repairs (rigs) and construction work are his favorites.
His son, family, watches, photography, motorcycles, training and sailing take up his time. Honored to have Christopher join us in 2025.

Cem Durgun : Underwater welding and Diving Instructor @ NYD - Norwegian Subsea Training Centre

Specialize in planning, executing, and supervising diving operations, alongside teaching the theoretical and practical aspects of diving, underwater welding, and oxy-arc cutting. With over 15 years of teaching experience, I have worked with both experienced commercial divers and those new to the field, ensuring they gain the necessary skills and knowledge for underwater welding. I believe teaching is crucial to the development of any diver, and I approach my role with a strong pedagogical mindset, recognizing the need to see and realize different approaches for each diver or student according to their unique needs. This ensures that each individual receives the support necessary to thrive while maintaining a solid foundation in safety and technique.

Cem's background includes five years of service as a Petty Officer in the Turkish Naval Forces, where I honed my skills in navigation, leadership, and operational management.

His mission is to share his expertise with the next generation of divers and welders, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed for success, including advanced techniques like oxy-arc cutting. Cem is passionate about contributing to the continued development and innovation of the subsea sector.

Nicole Donvy : Swedish Professional Diver joins Commercial Dive Locker 2026 Board

Nicole Donvy, a Swedish professional diver with over a decade of experience in inspection, civil engineering, and construction diving, now works as a freelancer and project leader, selecting projects across Europe while mentoring younger divers. Recently Nicole was selected to demo the DRASS ONE She commented: “I loved the experience. The helmet lets you move your head in every direction, and the wide viewport makes a huge difference compared to what I’ve used before. Demand is so smooth, almost like breathing on the surface, making it much easier to get the job done. Going forward, I will really enjoy working with this helmet.”

Magician / SAT Diver joins Commercial Dive Locker 2026 Board

Meet Edward Askham Spencer, DeepSea Saturation Diver, Internationally Renowned Professional Magician. Veteran of the 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment. Actor, Writer, Producer & Director of a fictional film series currently in preproduction.

Commercial diving engaged Edward's curiosity since he was a small boy and for over a decade has been his primary focus for earning an income. His first offshore job was in 2014. Being capable, qualified, fit healthy and flexible enough to work in this industry is far from easy to maintain but it is was his love for being in challenging environments.

Edward's secondary interest is Entertainment and more specifically performing Magic. Edward came late to Magic learning the basics in 2018 but quickly realized that it was a way to charismatically engage with people on an even footing. He has performed for his 2 year old right through to a 105 year old, penniless people through to hedge fund CEO’s, Celebrities and members of the Royal family. People of many ethnic backgrounds and cultures and every time the striking common reaction is the same, he us greeted with wondrous smiles laughter and applause. I love those moments when I put some normal everyday thing in front a person and they seemingly make a magical moment happen.

Ed Horn : Dive Superintendent Joins Board of Commercial Divers

Professional Motto
Precision – Safety – Execution
"I don’t just dive into projects—I lead purposefully, enforce structure, and deliver results that endure beneath the surface.
“Diving is not just depth and pressure—it’s discipline, readiness, and the trust that others place in you when the stakes are highest.”

I have a well-documented, 2-decades-long success record, managing high-risk underwater construction, salvage, inspection, and demonstration projects across military, industrial, and commercial environments. My career spans complex, compliance-driven work for U.S. Army Garrison operations in the Marshall Islands, utility giants like FPL and Tampa Electric, and high-visibility OEM demo teams pushing the edge of subsea technology.

From directing dam gate installations and hyperbaric chamber operations to guiding vessel salvage under emergency protocols, I bring structure to high-consequence environments. I’ve supervised dive crews of up to 12 divers, enforced strict safety protocols under OSHA 1910 Subpart T and ADCI standards, and maintained a spotless safety record while executing under pressure.

I lead with accountability and alignment. I plan the work, assess the risks, and ensure that every diver, every vessel, and every support system functions as part of a coordinated whole. Whether working alongside USACE or managing dive operations in remote and supply-limited regions, I deliver operational clarity and dependable execution.

My ability to integrate technical skill, regulatory precision, and real-world leadership sets me apart, building high-performance teams that know their role, trust the plan, and execute with precision. I am equally comfortable leading demo teams with prototype systems as I am coordinating response efforts in fast-moving emergencies.

Let's connect if you're looking for a commercial dive leader who brings discipline, adaptability, and field-tested leadership to your marine or infrastructure projects.
